The FICO score comes from the Fair Issac Corporation. They are the creators of the first credit scoring system which came about in 1958. The three credit reporting agencies in the US have their own similar scores to the FICO score, but for the most part, the FICO score is the dominate way used to figure out an individuals credit score.
